A conversation I had earlier with the 2008 La Ruina Champ:
me: you starting arroyo
John: yup
Sent at 6:05 PM on Tuesday
me: probably should bench both
John: probably
but that is why i’m going to win the league
About two hours later on Rotoworld:
Bronson Arroyo was pummeled for 10 runs in one-plus innings by the Blue Jays on Tuesday night.
Call it an educated guess, but we don’t think Arroyo is going to be heavily pursued by AL clubs in trade talks this summer. Arroyo surrendered hits to 11 of the 15 batters he faced and walked another. Scott Rolen, Gregg Zaun and Alex Rios homered off him. Arroyo hadn’t been pitching badly over the last month and a half, but he’s going to keep having trouble with quality lineups.
At least he has Rasner’s Line to off-set Arroyo: 5 innings, 10 hits, 7 er.
Truly a turning point.
