Question: Does the rest of the country tailgate like this?
I ask because last weekend I made it to Miller Park for a few games and it dawned on me that I’ve never seen people tailgate like this at other stadiums. It was a weird realization because this is what I grew up with and I just figured everyone got wasted and sated in the parking lot before the game.

Milwaukee really is a great place to go see a game and, of course, tailgate. They practically encourage tailgating there. There are stadium bathrooms accessible from the parking lot. There are designated garbage drums for dumping the used coals from your grill. That’s where I learned to properly cook a bratwurst. And yes, you might find some beer there too.

Funny you should post this because I was thinking the same thing about tailgating on Monday. I went to the Dodger game (Kuroda’s one-hitter) after work. Game time was 7:10pm. I figured I’d get there early (4:45) and throw a ball around in the parking lot, watch BP and have some beers. Wrong!!! Security wouldn’t open the parking lots until 2 hours before gametime (5:10pm), so I had to sit in my car outside the stadium for a half hour until they let me in. Then when I parked, I walked up to the gate to go watch BP. Wrong!!!!!!! They don’t let anyone into the stadium until 5:40pm. Why they let you park and then don’t let you into the stadium is borderline incomprehensible. That’s okay though, I’ll just go toss the old ball around in the lot for 30 minutes. Wrong!!!!! No tailgating or ballplaying in any of the parking lots. You just have to sit outside like a loser until the stadium opens. Get worse Dodgers. Get worse.
